Since 1976 the CYO has been operating an After School Program at our Trenton site for students enrolled in Kindergarten through Grade 7. Children must be no younger than 5 and no older than 12 years at the start of the program. Our caring and professional staff provide a program consisting of supervised athletic, educational, and recreational enrichment activities held during the after school hours (2:30 – 5:30pm). The program is closed on most major holidays, but remains opens on scheduled teacher conference half days. Subsidized Child Care is available for those who qualify. There is a limited number of non-subsidized and voucher (Child-Care Connection) slots available for those who do not use a state contracted subsidized slot.
Activities include: weekly arts & crafts classes, computer lab, homework assistance, tutoring, game room, large gymnasium, Skelton Branch Library visits, reading/movie room, outside private playground, local park trips weather permitting, board games, nutritious snack served daily, special seasonal events, Junior Achievement Program and collaborations with other local non-profits such as Isles and Kidsbridge Children’s Museum to offer additional educational programming in the area of health/exercise and character education.
Transportation is available from the following schools: Parker, Franklin, Grant, Hedgepeth/Williams, PJ Hill, Mott, Robbins, Robbins Annex, Dunn and Washington.
Please note: Students enrolled at Harrison, Parker Annex 1 & 2, and the International Charter School are escorted by Staff to the CYO Center since all of these schools are within walking distance. Door to door take home transportation is available – arrangements must be made in advance with a program director.
