South Broad Street REC Camp

 

Located on South Broad Street in Trenton, the CYO of Mercer County conducts a Summer R.E.C. (Recreational / Educational Camp) Program. Children 5-12 years of age have the opportunity to participate in a variety of age appropriate activities and special events such as our Talent Show, Camp Carnival, and trip to a water park. The camp is staffed by caring, patient staff; many of whom attended the program themselves as campers. To register your child in our program, please stop by the center to fill out the required paperwork..

Activities offered in Summer R.E.C. Program

·         Large Gymnasium

·         New, Updated Computer Lab

·         Air-Conditioned Activity Rooms

·         Swimming Program

·         Transportation from all parts of the City of Trenton

·         Field Trips

·         Outside Private Playground

·         Local Park Visits (Franklin, Villa, Riverwalk)

·         Art & Crafts

·         Character Education

·         Camp-Wide Soccer League

·         Basketball League vs. Other Camps

·         CATCH Program (Instructor led gym class)

·         Golf Program (with a Golf Pro)

·         Nature Trips (Tulpehaking Nature Center)

·         Explore-It Program (Engineering/Science Projects)

·         LEGO BuildToExpress Program

·         Free Lunch & Afternoon Snack

·         Extended Care available from 7:30am to 5:30pm

South Broad St. Counselor - In - Training (C.I.T.) Program

 

“This program is designed to provide 14 and 15 year olds with the skills required to become an effective Junior Counselor when they turn 16 years old. Candidates will need to fill out an application, write a three-paragraph essay on why they would like to be a Camp Counselor, submit their most recent report card proving passing grades, and interview with the Program Director.
